When all said & done you probably can't name another film that has revived retro sportswear as much as Nick Love's The Business did from 2005. If
Beat Street started it on the big screen, then The Business most definitely revived it. Other period dramas have tried to capture the flamboyant 80s era, but none have really come close as far as The Business is concerned. Not only did it re-ignite the passion for the original wearers of brands' like Fila & Sergio Tacchini, it also actually introduced them to a new generation. Back in 2005 it was still word of mouth, and the word of this cool 80s film with loads of retro sportswear in it started to spread like wild fire. OG 80s sportswear styles from the film have become the backbone of 80s Casual Classics over the last 15 years. The good news is we've got another original style from the film. The Fila Verdy Two Stripe track top now returns to its spiritual home.

First released in 2005, Nick Love's The Business gave us an exclusive look into the lives of Eastend gangsters living the high life on the Costa Del Crime in the 1980s. Starring the likes of Danny Dyer, Tamer Hassan & Geoff Bell the film featured a massive selection of original Fila & Sergio Tacchini styles from the 80s era. Literally every scene in the film boasts a bit of retro sportswear from
the Fila Settanta to the Sergio Tacchini Dallas. After first watching the film it left you mesmerised & probably a little bit obsessed with 80s sportswear, wanting each and every original White Line design that you had seen on the screen.

The latest revival style from the film to land at 80s Casual Classics comes in the form of the Fila Verdy Two Stripe track top which you might recognise from several scenes in the British cult classic. Our first glimpse of the iconic White Line style features on the slightly psychotic Sammy (slightly is probably as massive understatement) as he screams at a waiter on a beach bar and glasses him. A key wardrobe style, the classic 80s track top also features on Frankie as he drives off into the sunset at the very end of the film.

The brainchild of Pier Luigi Rolando, the classic two stripe tracksuit was first introduced in the early 80s as part of the now legendary White Line. Originally Made in Italy, the Verdy featured Fila's signature piping across the chest & pockets alongside a luxurious velour fabric. The ultimate in casual loungewear, the two stripes to the left sleeve gave the style it's own unique look.
