Also known as they Vantaggio, the Fila Vilas polo shirt was originally worn by the Argentinian tennis legend throughout his Grand Slam glory days of the late 1970s. It was also spotted on Borg on several occasions throughout the same era but it was mainly a style associated with Vilas. Alongside the Fila Vintage Courto track top, the Vantaggio was a signature Vilas style & featured all the usual traits of the White Line designs at the time. Vilas famously wore the Vantaggio polo shirt throughout his victorious US Open final against Jimmy Connors in 1977 as well as the French Open final against Brian Gottfried in 1977. The iconic colour blocking design really set the bar as far as colourful tennis gear was concerned, perfectly capturing the winning streak of the flamboyant Argentinian throughout his glorious Grand Slam days of the late 1970s. Even though Vilas signed with Ellesse in 1980, the legacy of the Vantaggio has never gone away, after all who doesn't love a bit of classic White Line associated with a champion?
