In 1980 NB introduced the 620, closely followed by the 420 in 1982, the 670 in 1984, the 1300 in 1985 and then the New Balance 574 trainer in 1988. American marathon runner and New Balance athlete, Dick Beardsley, famously wore a pair of New Balance running trainers as he crossed the line for the Boston Marathon in 1982. Reviving the archival running silhouette from 1988, the New Balance 574 features a mixture of premium suede & mesh uppers in true OG style. A padded ankle collar to the rear adds some extra support with the addition of EVA foam cushioning in the midsole & ENCAP sole technology which combines soft foam with a durable polyurethane rim. The classic NB silhouette is finished off with the famous ‘N’ branding to the side walls alongside an extra grippy outsole underfoot.
