The Fila Tennis 88 Trainer Draws Inspiration From Fila's Footwear Archives

Fila give a nod to their tennis archives with the introduction of the very latest Fila Tennis 88 trainer which packs all that classic 80s performance court style.

For 80s sportswear fans it sometimes easy to overlook the footwear side of Fila with such a strong focus on the prestigious White Line and its legendary apparel ranges. Following on from the success of the White Line in the late 1970s & early 1980s Borg era of BB1's, Settanta's, Terrinda's & Tiebreaker's, Fila also looked to break into the footwear side of tennis, which had previously been dominated by the likes of Diadora, adidas, PUMA & Nike. If Fila could get a tennis star to wear their gear, the theory was they could also wear their trainers. With full grain leather uppers in typical 80s fitness shoe style, Fila's tennis trainers also featured perforations to the sidewall and toe vamp for extra breathability for the wearer.
