The adidas Handball Spezial Black/Orange trainer puts a City Series spin on the OG court classic with a new Brussels inspired colourway.
Following on from updated winterized versions of the Handball Spezial trainer, the celebrated court silhouette is now treated to a very special City Series inspired colourway update. Giving a nod to the adidas Brussels trainer, this latest adidas Handball Spezial black/orange trainer puts a City Series spin on the OG court classic. Revived from the adidas archives back in 2019, the original
City Series trainer followed in the footsteps of other Continental classics like the Malmo, the Berlin, the London, the Hamburg, the Munchen & the Stockholm to name a few. Named after the Belgian capital city, the original Brussels trainer first arrived on the 3 stripes scene back in the 1970s and was originally made in West Germany. It's signature black uppers with contrasting orange 3 stripes now lands on the original Handball silhouette from 1979, with the introduction of the adidas Handball Spezial black/orange trainer.

Built for speed and grip on the speedy handball courts of Germany & Europe, the adidas Handball Spezial trainer quickly became one of the most desirable styles for football fans across the UK back in the late 1970s & early 1980s. Whereas the Kick, the Samba & the Mamba were all geared up for football, the Handball Spezial was the Handball-Bundesliga's answer to the perfect performance shoe. Over the years the OG court trainer has seen various countries of manufacture since its release back in the late 1970s such as West Germany, Slovakia, Poland & France. The original Handball trainer from adidas also started a legacy of indoor handball shoes from the 3 stripes brand such as the Handball Top which arrived 8 years later in 1987. After a more recent revival courtesy of Gary Aspden back in 2014, the Handball Spezial trainer has become a mainstay for 3 stripes enthusiasts and still remains one of the most celebrated adidas trainers of all time.
