As far as our own ranges of classic sportswear, apparel & trainers goes, the adidas Hamburg trainer is probably something like the trainer equivalent of
the Fila Settanta as far as popularity goes. The Hamburg is probably one of our best selling trainers of all time ever since its revival from the 3 stripes archives back in 2014. With a rich in history in the UK's Casual subculture & connections with the coveted City Series it's not really surprising the Hamburg continues to be a fan favourite. The original early 80s model is now updated with the adidas Hamburg Collegiate Green trainer which utilises the classic 3 stripes hue. If you know your Country from your Kamanda then the chances are you've already got an appreciation for all things Collegiate & green. Originally released back in 1982 at the pinnacle of Casual fashion as part of the original European City Series, the adidas Hamburg looked to the North German port city for its title. Just like a lot of the classic adidas trainers from the same era the Hamburg was also made in Yugoslavia before adidas switched manufacturing to Asia. The connection with travelling away fans for European Cup games for football clubs like Liverpool & Aberdeen only added to the desirability even more. Due to the fact many of the models weren't even available on the UK market in the early 80s, the Casuals creating their own trainer economy, long before the likes of StockX were offering "Buy & Sells" on hyped Jordan releases. Amsterdam, Berlin, Koln, London, Athens, Belfast, Dublin, Paris, Brussels, Copenhagen, Malmo, Stockholm, Oslo, Turin, Valencia, Milan, Manchester, Frankfurt, Rome & of course the Hamburg, were just some of the many names of the celebrated 3 stripes series.

Even though they were called different names, the characteristics of the majority of the City Series were very similar. It was all about suede uppers, 3 stripes to the sidewalls & of course the statement gum sole unit. Basically the classic addias trainer aesthetic. The Hamburg originally came in an navy colourway with the signature gum sole unit and the famous t-toe detailing to the front. Originally deigned as an indoor training shoe, the Hamburg was revived back in 2014 & continues to be the talk of the town with adidas forums & collectors. Featuring soft suede uppers with leather 3 stripes and the iconic gum sole, this latest iteration is a must have for the serious adidas collectors out there.
