The crocodile logo brand was named after Lacoste who was as elegant off the court, as much as he was a warrior on it. Hollywood actors like Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood championed the whole preppy 'Ivy' look of the 1960s giving Lacoste a whole new elitist appeal.
