Weekend Offender put their own spin on the classic smock with military influences & technical nylon ripstop fabrics just in time for the start of the football season.
As connoisseurs of casual apparel & military garms we could probably talk about the classic smock all day. A military silhouette steeped in British subculture, the smock was originally worn by the British Airborne during WW2. It’s iconic over the head (OTH) design that has become synonymous with scooter meets, 90s Britpop & football fans thanks to military influences within the UK's homegrown casual scene over the last 40 years. If there's one brand that knows a thing or two about "casual" outerwear it's our mates over at Weekend Offender who have been supplying the UK, & Europe, with their top tier terrace toggery for the last 20 years. This latest season sees the Welsh casual brand put their own spin on the classic smock and don't they just look great. Founded back in 2004 by Sam Jones and Rhydian Powell, Weekend Offender has become one of the most popular UK terrace brands for those in the know. With a no fuss approach to their collections and a “does what is says on the tin” mentality, Weekend Offender takes inspiration from the Casual subculture of the UK, the early 90s rave scene, cult classic films, football, pop culture and everything else in between. Since its arrival on the scene back in the early noughties, the brand has built a loyal fanbase in the UK & across Europe with their iconic outerwear featuring everything from calling cards to integrated face masks. Worn by Britpop royalty, homegrown Grime MC’s & the comical cast of Shameless, Weekend Offender’s roots in the UK’s subculture run pretty deep.

We've managed to get our hands on two Weekend Offender smock styles, the Kovags Overhead & the Grohl Overhead, with both styles giving a nod to the classic military silhouette with subtle differences. The Kovags features a cotton fabric with a subtle diagonal weave & a 3 pocket design to the front. Other highlights include tie cord adjusters to the front & hood for that classic smock fit. The Grohl, no relation to Dave, also comes in the classic smock style & features a technical nylon ripstop fabric which has been treated with an additional DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating. Other highlights include a 3D angled pocket to the chest with tie cord adjusters to the hood & hem. Each smock is then finished off with a detachable Weekend Offender badge to the left sleeve.
