A revival style that will probably continue to be a mainstay among 80s afiocondas & collectors for the foreseeable future, the Fjord is a testament to the Italian sportswear designers' vision of style driven sportswear. The Fjord is arguably just about as good as it gets when it comes to retro track tops from the 1980s. OG styles like the Fjord owed a lot to the
legendary tennis icon John McEnroe. The rock 'n' roller of centre court who wouldn't take any shit with his style driven sportswear it was a match (point) made in heaven. There were numerous classic McEnroe styles of the flamboyant 1980s Casual era such as the Ghibli, the Masters, the Dallas, the Star & the Fjord to name a few. McEnroe famously wore the Fjord track top in the striking red colourway when he beat Mats Wilander in the 6 hour long Davis Cup quarter-final in 1982. Just like the majority of classic Tacchini styles worn by McEnroe from the early 1980s, the Fjord was also a massive hit with the Casuals for its hefty price tag & elitist appeal. A testament to Tacchini's vision of style driven sportswear, the Fjord was originally 'Made in Italy' & was also available in the classic navy/cream colourway & featured the signature twin stipes to the sleeves & funnel neck collar.
