Patrick Monza Trainer Retro Runner

The Patrick Monza Trainer is The Ultimate Late 70s Inspired Retro Running Trainer

On first glimpse of the Patrick Monza trainer you would be massively forgiven for thinking it's an original silhouette from the French sportswear brand's running archives.

Drawing inspiration from the original running boom of the late 1970s, if the Patrick Monza had of graced the pavements of the era it would probably be something like the equivalent of the Aztec to Reebok, the Vantage to Brooks or the Nite Jogger to adidas. It's that classic late 70s running trainer aesthetic that the Monza so perfectly captures, harking back to an era of Patrick's signature two stripes, 'Made in France' silhouettes & its rich running heritage. Following the release of the likes of the Liverpool & the Bergan, Patrick has now introduced the Monza trainer in true OG running style which now arrives in an updated navy/red/white colourway.

As far as classic 80s sportswear brands are concerned they don't really get much better than Patrick. Thanks to endorsement deals with the likes of Kevin Keegan & Michel Platini, Patrick was the football boots brand of the era. Every 80s kid wanted a bit of Patrick on their feet and it didn't really matter if the soles were studded or gum soled. One of the most sought after brands of the original 1980s, the football connection quickly latched onto the whole Casual thing, with young football fans sporting Patrick cagoules & classic gum soled trainers on the terraces as a 2 striped alternative to adidas, Diadora or Puma. A relatively new revival retro brand that has made a massive comeback in more recent years courtesy of 80s Casual Classics thanks to various re-releases.
