There's something about a chalk white & burgundy colourway on a classic adidas trainer that looks great. The adidas Forest Grove trainer, more commonly known as the Oregon, looked pretty good dressed up in the colourway combo when the original Bill Dellinger runner returned a few years back. After also recently featuring on the Rivalry Low, it's now the turn of the adidas Jeans trainer which gets the chalk white & burgundy treatment. It's been a pretty busy last few months for the original "denim" trainer. From Cordura updates to Malmo inspired colourways, the adidas Jeans trainer looks pretty good whatever the weather. The celebrated 3 stripes style now arrives in an updated white & burgundy version, adding another colourway combo you probably need in your 3 stripes collection.

Drawing inspiration from the early SL ranges from the 1970s, the adidas Jeans trainer was well ahead of its time. Similar in appearance to the SL72 trainer, the adidas Jeans trainer debuted 3 years later in 1975. The MK1 jeans trainer took its name from the growing jeans with trainers trend, something which Nike would also jump on 1 year later in 1976 with Farah Fawcett famously modelling a pair of Nike Cortez whilst riding a skateboard in Charlies Angels. However, it was the second release of the Jeans that really struck a cord with the growing Casual movement of the late 1970s. The adidas Jeans MKII was probably the most sought after of the two, the main notable difference was the introduction of the heel stabiliser.

One of the magical 3 stripes styles from the original Casual sportswear era of the late 1970s and early 1980s, the adidas Jeans trainer saw a switch away from traditional performance trainers to leisure use. Just like adidas introduced leisure focused silhouettes such as the Tobacco, calling a trainer after a pair of jeans clearly had a focus. It was designed as a trainer to wear with jeans, which quickly caught on courtesy of the Casuals with their wedge hair cuts, windbreakers and Levi jeans.
