We've Got Another Wilander Exclusive From Sergio Tacchini
After working directly with the legendary Italian sportswear brand, Sergio Tacchini, it gives us great pleasure to announce another exclusive Wilander track top.
Who doesn't love a bit of 80s sportswear swagger? Well it's kind of our thing here at 80s Casual Classics and this latest exclusive Sergio Tacchini Wilander track top is exactly that. Adding another exclusive colourway of the celebrated Wilander track top as famously worn by the Swedish tennis legend, Matts Wilander. It was the next generation of tennis talent like Matts Wilander that would fly the Tacchini flag moving into the mid 80s. As the Grand Slam titles of the 1980s became a 'Casual' catwalk of style driven sportswear it was legendary Italian designers like Sergio Tacchini that would flaunt their very latest sport-wares on centre court. The French Open in 1985 was no different. It was Ivan Lendl & Mats Wilander in the final. Lendl wore his signature adidas Argyle polo shirt, whilst Matts Wilander wore the latest style driven designs from Tacchini with the signature stripes of the Wilander.

As sportswear designs started to become even more style driven moving into the mid 80s, it was OG designs like the Wilander that were a testament to Tacchini's new direction of sportswear design. A new generation of tennis talent like Mats Wilander & Pete Sampras catapulted Tacchini into the late 1980s & early 90s with some of the most vibrant designs the tennis world had ever seen. Mats Wilander was a Swedish tennis player & former World No.1 that was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2002. Winning the French Open & Australian Open both 3 times between 1982 & 1988 as well as the US Open in 1988, Wilander was one of the youngest ever players to win 4 Grand Slam titles by the age of 20.
