The Sergio Tacchini Supermac polo shirt was an original Tacchini style as famously worn by the American tennis legend, John McEnroe, in the early 1980s.

There were numerous original McEnroe styles from the early 1980s that were worn by the German born tennis player. Just like football teams had matching warm up jackets to go with their kits, for tennis players of the late 1970s & early 1980s it was no different. If McEnroe had a polo shirt there would always be a matching track top to go with it. For example the New Young Line polo shirt had the New Young Line track top & the Blow polo shirt had the Davis Cup Ghibli track top. In the case of the Supermac polo shirt it was the Dallas track top. McEnroe famously wore the Supermac polo shirt during the US Open in 1981, beating Bjorn Borg in the final to take his 3rd Grand Slam title of the year. The American tennis legend was also seen wearing the iconic Tacchini polo shirt on the cover of his autobiography from 1982 by Richard Evans.
