Sergio Tacchini Drop A Little 90s Number With The Retro Track Top

The Sergio Tacchini Retro track top channels Cool Britannia with a 90s inspired design just in time for the summer festivities.

If there was one band that really got the crowd going at this years Glastonbury festival it was Pulp, topping off their set with the 90s Britpop classic 'Common People'. You might also have seen them two brothers from Burnage on murals, in the news headlines or on stage (if you're lucky enough) for one of the biggest reunion gigs of a band in musical history. Whether you like it or like not we're currently in a full blown 90s revival at the moment. As the new generation of 90s music fans ditch the doom scrolling for a bit of sing-along to 'Don't Look Back Anger' there's also a sense of that 90s optimism back in the air. The 90s wasn't just about the music though, it was also about the clothes, with a revival of retro sportswear as seen at the legendary ‘Soccer Six’ charity football match at Mile End Stadium back in May 1996 where Liam Gallagher famously squared up to Damon Albarn. Getting in on the latest 90s revival, our pals at Sergio Tacchini have just dropped a little a 90s number with the Retro track top. Originally founded in 1966 by the Italian tennis champion of the same name, Sergio Tacchini rose to fame at the pinnacle of casual sportswear in the late 1970s & early 1980s. Worn by a new generation or rock ‘n’ roll tennis stars like John McEnroe, with centre court meltdowns & non “white” tennis-wear, Tacchini’s vision of style driven sportswear took the elite tennis world by storm. One of the most sought after sportswear brands of the original Casuals, it was the various track tops from the iconic Italian sportswear brand that really put the ST logo on the map. Moving into the late 1980s & early 90s Tacchini’s designs really captured the colourful sportswear trends sponsoring American tennis legends like Pete Sampras as he rose through the ranks. Featuring a 90s inspired design, as oppose to the traditional 80s styling we're use to from the ST brand, the Retro track top channels Cool Britannia and the iconic clobber worn by Britpop icons. Highlights include a baseball style collar with piping detail to the sleeves & embroidered ST branding to the left chest. Finished off with side slip pockets & a Sergio Tacchini branded zip, the Retro track top is the ultimate bit of 90s swagger for the summer months.
