Reebok Clasic Nylon 1991

The Reebok Classic Nylon 1991 Trainer Lands in Some Classic 90s Colourways

The Reebok Classic Nylon trainer followed in the footsteps of the original 'all leather' style from the 1980s, first released in 1991 it gave the Classic a completely new colourful direction.

When you think of the Reebok Classic it's generally that classic 'all leather' silhouette in white from the 1980s that comes to mind. However the Classic is, and always will be, a lot more than just a one trick pony. It was the Reebok Classic Nylon trainer from 1991 that gave the Classic a completely new colourful direction. As styles changed moving into the 1990s, combined with the influences of rave culture & new music trends, a new sporty 90s trend was born. It was all about colour-blocking & big logos with sportswear entering its next chapter following its Casual phase of the 1980s. Reebok were really at the top of their game in the 1990s from sponsoring Premier League footballers to creating some of the most talked about basketball trainers of the era. The 90s also marked a new era for the Reebok Classic with the introduction of the Classic Nylon trainer which now arrives in some classic 90s colourways.

Reebok's Union Jack logo had already become like a badge of honour for fitness aficionado's in the 1980s who were either 'pumping iron' like Arnie or jumping into a Jane Fonda inspired aerobic class. OG silhouettes like the Reebok Classic trainer championed the whole 80s fitness craze, designed as an all purpose training shoe that could be used for various workouts. First released in 1982, the Reebok Classic became the foundation of Reebok's celebrated 'All Leather' training styles during the 1980s. 9 years later in 1991, Reebok introduced the Classic Nylon trainer. The Classic Nylon paved the way for a 90s revival of the Classic silhouette which would pretty much last the entire decade. From local fair-grounds to football fans at France 98_ the Reebok Classic remained an all time footwear favourite of the 1990s.
