Reebok Classic 2400

The Reebok Classic 2400 Trainer Puts a Colourful Spin on the Classic

For 2024 Reebok introduce the Classic 2400 for a modern day iteration on the classic 80s fitness silhouette with more colour than any other Classic before.

'So let's put on our classics and we'll have a little dance, shall we?' the legendary lyrics from 'Let's Push Things Forward' from Mike Skinner & The Streets was a testament to the Classics' urban street appeal of the early noughties. A silhouette that is still probably considered the pinnacle of British street culture when it comes to the footwear side of things. It seems like each decade has had its own revival of the Reebok Classic whether its a shout out on a genre-bending Garage album in the noughties or some full tracksuit clad Scousers waiting outside Wade Smith in the 90s. The're just something nothing quite like the original 'all leather' styles from Reebok from the 1980s & it was the Reebok Classic that really kicked things off. For 2024 Reebok have given the Classic a colourful update with the introduction of the Classic 2400 trainer which puts a colourful spin on the classic early 80s silhouette.

Reebok's Union Jack logo had already became like a badge of honour for fitness freaks & gym goers in the 1980s who were either 'pumping iron' like Arnie or jumping into a Jane Fonda inspired aerobic class. OG silhouettes like the Reebok Classic trainer championed the whole 80s fitness craze, designed as an all purpose training shoe that could be used for various workouts. First released in 1982, the Reebok Classic became the foundation of Reebok's celebrated 'All Leather' training styles during the 1980s. Arnold Schwarzenegger also famously wore a pair of Classics in the gym scene of the 1990 comedy/action film Kindergarten Cop, a subtle nod to the Classics' 80s fitness heritage. Reebok's marketing team also did a pretty job of describing the Classic with the tagline; 'It's Luxurious, it's rich, it's soft, Reebok garment leather that feels like you're walking on clouds'.
