First introduced for the 1952 Winter Olympic Games in Oslo, the Oslo City trainer has literally stood the test of time. One of PUMA's oldest trainers of all time, the Oslo City trainer made its debut 6 years earlier than the Roma. Designed as a multi-purpose training shoe, the Oslo City celebrated the Winter Olympic games in Norway at a time when German sportswear brands were really starting to make their mark on the world of athletics & sports. Competition between the two Dassler brothers was fierce after the brothers decided to part ways with Rudolph focusing on PUMA and Adi on adidas. The aim was to get their shoes endorsed by the top athletes at the biggest tournaments so the Olympics was a no brainer.

Just like adidas have released different iterations of the same style, some more popular than others, the story is no different with the Oslo City. Originally manufactured in West Germany, the 68_ model was initially released as a multi-purpose training shoe for indoor court sports such as handball and volleyball. It soon became just as popular to wear for casual use with tracksuits or jeans.
