PUMA Arizona Retro Trainers

PUMA Go All Out Retro With The Arizona Trainer

The PUMA Arizona Retro trainer revives the legendary 'Big Cat' silhouette from the 1970s that took its name from the southwestern US state.

You've probably heard of the saying when something goes 'full circle' which is most certainly the case for PUMA at the moment. Over the last 50 year the German sportswear brand has given us everything from classic basketball trainers to recently sponsoring the likes of Man City in a record '1 billion deal. With a new found love for all things retro & classic suede silhouettes, PUMA has once again stamped its classic gum soles on the trainer world, tapping into a whole new TikTok generation as well as the original terrace wearers. Following its revival from the PUMA archives a few years back, the PUMA Arizona trainer now returns for a very special Retro version for 2025.

It was the 1970s was where PUMA really started to show the trainer world what they were really all about. The Clyde saw PUMA collaborate with the New York Knicks legend Walt Frazier Clyde. The 1970s also the big cat logo brand strike up endorsement deals with soccer superstars such as Pele & G'nter Netzer. Thing were really popping for PUMA throughout the 70s, switching manufacturing to Yugoslavia which some die hard PUMA fans claim to be some of the greatest releases of all time. 1976 saw PUMA branch out there distribution even further to Taiwan where classics like the PUMA Arizona would first come off the assembly lines. Just like PUMA has used names of other US states & cities such as the Dallas, the Arizona trainer celebrated the southwestern US State, home to the Grand Canyon & the Sonoran Desert.
