Pretty Green Go Mad For it With Kappa

The Pretty Green x Kappa collection celebrates Cool Britannia & the revival of retro sportswear with a range of classic 90s sportswear from track tops to bucket hats.

Just in case you hadn't noticed there's been a bit of a 90s revival thing going on recently. With the Live '25 Oasis reunion gigs bringing back all the nostalgia, and the clothing of the colourful 90s era (for those who can remember it), this latest Pretty Green x Kappa collaboration couldn't of dropped at a better time. Taking us back to that legendary 'Soccer Six' charity football match at Mile End Stadium back in May 1996 where Liam Gallagher famously squared up to Damon Albarn, the collaboration gives a nod to the retro sportswear revival of the era. The Blur frontman, Damon Albarn, famously wore a Kappa jacket putting the 'Omini' logo in the centrefolds of the music magazines to a new 90s sportswear consumer. From its 80s B-boy origins, Kappa quickly spread like wild fire across the school playgrounds & pubs as the 90s put its own "Cool Britannia" spin on 80s sportswear worn by the original Casuals. Originally launched back in 2009, which was ironically the same year the Gallagher brothers had a massive bust up at the Rock en Seine festival near Paris, Pretty Green takes it name after a song by the Jam of the same name. Steeped in British subculture from the original mods of the 1960s to the revival of retro sportswear in the 1990s, Pretty Green is a British heritage brand that unites all things rock ‘n’ roll with a passion for classic cuts, military influences and cool looking clothes that make you want to start shaking a pair of maracas with one hand behind your back. Renowned for its military inspired outerwear & paisley prints, Pretty Green has remained a mainstay at 80s Casual Classics over the last 10 years. Pretty Green now teams up with Kappa for a celebration of all things Britpop, 90s & sportswear. Worn by the sportswear clad B-Boys of the early 80s, Britpop icons & the youth culture of the UK in the mid to late 90s, it was the Kappa track top that really put the North Italian sportswear label on the map. The iconic logo taping down the sleeves didn’t just stop at subculture, it was also seen on Serie A legends like AC Milan & La Liga heavyweights Barcelona. Over the last 30 years Kappa have also sponsored Manchester City, Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur, Ajax, Napoli & Juventus, making their football connection just as strong for the ‘Omini’ logo brand.
