We've worked with Patrick, again, to re-introduce another OG football trainer style from the archives with the introduction of the Patrick Liverpool trainer.
We've been pretty busy at 80s Casual Classics over the last few months. We've worked with Nick Love on the wardrobe for
A Town Called Malice, reviving the retro sportswear charm of the "Costa Del Crime" in the 1980s. We've recently gone on a UK tour to meet the die hard collectors of classic sportswear from the golden era of one-upmanship. We've also brought back numerous OG Patrick trainer styles such as the Villan and more recently the Rio. On the revival side of things it doesn't just stop there though. We're now bringing back the Patrick Liverpool trainer with all its 80s football heritage.

If you grew up in the early 1980s and liked a bit of a kick about with your pals then the chances are you will have probably owned a pair, or desperately wanted a pair, of Patrick football boots. Every 80s kid wanted a bit of Patrick on their feet and it didn't really matter if the soles were studded or gum soled. Whether you grew up in Liverpool, Leeds, Leicester or London, Patrick's football boots and football trainers really were the talk of the playground back in the early 80s. Patrick gained its popularity in the UK courtesy of a football boot sponsorship deal with Kevin Keegan aka 'Mighty Mouse' in 1980. Patrick also introduced a range of gum soled football trainers that were not only as hard as nails but also looked great with a pair of jeans. Patrick released numerous football style trainers during the early 1980s such as the Liverpool, the Villan, the Platini, the Rio & the Keegan King which all catered for the growing football style trainer trend.

We've worked with Patrick, again, to re-introduce another OG football trainer style from the archives. The OG silhouette brings back fond memories of after school kick abouts with your mates with coats as goal posts & muddy marks on your school pants. Reviving the OG Liverpool style, the popular terrace trainer was one of the most sought after Patrick trainers of the early 1980s. Designed for astro-turf play at a time when 5-a-side cages were popping up all over the country at local sports centres, the Liverpool took football boot technology into trainer form making it one of the toughest trainers you have probably ever owned.

Originally made in France, it's no guesses that the Liverpool trainer really left its mark on the Merseyside city, that's not that to say it wasn't just as popular elsewhere with the Liverpool trainer maintaining a cult like status with the original wearers of the era. Now revived from the archives for a very special exclusive release, the OG football trainer features premium leather uppers in the classic black colourway with the brands signature two stripes to the sidewalls. Finished off with the iconic grippy gum sole, toe bumper & Patrick branding to the tongue, the Liverpool is now available to pre-order from 80s Casual Classics via the links above.
