A Town Called Malice is an upcoming Sky Original Drama from Nick Love which is set in the early 80s on the "Costa Del Crime".
When it comes to subcultures, crime sagas and coming of age films, Nick Love has already pretty much covered all bases. Good Bye Charlie Bright from 2001 saw life on the concrete jungles of a London estate in the early noughties with more crocodiles on show than a Lacoste flagship store. The Football Factory from 2004 gave us a real life insight into the underground world of football hooliganism in a post millennial Britain of lad culture, watered down lager and heavily cut drugs. The Business from 2005 gave us glamourous casuals with "more cocaine than Scarface" and more Fila than you thought was physically possible. Nick Love then revisited the 80s once again with The Firm from 2009 with Paul Anderson taking a lead role as Bex, a hooligan yuppy with a penchant for peacocking, aggro & brightly coloured sportswear. The good news is Nick Love & Vertigo Films are now officially back with A Town Called Malice, a forthcoming crime saga set on the Costa del Crime in the early 1980s. https://youtu.be/BX5yEBBNZic Nick Love & Vertigo Films will be revisiting the Costa del Crime once again in the early 1980s with A Town Called Malice, a Sky Original series which is set to follow in the footsteps of the cult classic, The Business, from 2005. Working alongside Rogue State & Sky Studios, we can now unveil the official trailer. The Sky Original series is an eight-part crime drama set on the flamboyant Costa del Sol in the early 80s and follows the Lords, a crime family of petty thieves from South London. Just like Danny Dyer left London to 'Be Someone' in The Business from 2005, the Lords also head to Spain's notorious Costa del Crime to escape a murder enquiry & reclaim their former glory days. The stellar line-up includes the likes of Jason Flemyng (Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels) as the Lord families top dog, Albert Lord. Jack Rowan (Born to Kill & Peaky Blinders) plays the youngest son Gene & Tahirah Sharif (The Haunting of Bly Manor) plays Gene's girlfriend Cindy Carter. When speaking to Sky about the cast Nick Love said; 'What an amazing cast. I am so lucky to finally be working with some of my favourite actors and childhood heroes. I couldn't be more excited to see how they bring the Lord family to life.'
