MA.STRUM: Where Performance Meets Design

The history of MA.STRUM goes back to 2008, a collaboration with the Massimo Osti Archive & the birth of a British designer brand that pushed the boundaries of technical outerwear.

If you know your Tinto Terra from your Tella Stella then you'll probably remember hearing about this buzzy new British brand that was working with the Massimo Osti Archive back in 2008. MA.STRUM was a new brand on the scene and everybody seemed to be talking about it. With its design origins firmly rooted in innovation, function, garment engineering & technical fabrics, a collaboration with the Massimo Osti Archive allowed the brand to access the Aladdin's cave of garment dyeing & fabric research through a partnership with the late Stone Island & C.P. Company founder. Drawing inspiration from military designs, sportswear & elements of Osti's original innovation, MA.STRUM blended classic 80s sportswear with modern day styling for some of the most technical gear we'd seen for a long time. The origins of MA.STRUM in the late noughties really marked the next generation of technical outerwear. Following its partnership with the Massimo Osti Archive, MA.STRUM was acquired by the entrepreneur John Sharp in 2014 with a further commitment to the brand's technical direction of performance outerwear. Under Sharp's leadership MA.STRUM was allowed to further its product ranges & fabric engineering. In the same year John Sharp also purchased the lesser known Massimo Osti brand, Boneville, which was originally launched back in 1981. The Boneville re-launch was also testament to Osti's original work which followed with a flagship store launch for MA.STRUM & Boneville in 2014 in London's trendy East End. Unique hues from garment dyeing and military design influences from snorkel parkas to UV shield visors incorporated into hoods, the outerwear from the British born brand continues to be in a league of its own. With a concept of form meets function, MA.STRUM continue to offer the very latest in technical garment innovation from season to season. A core focus on premium materials and an aim to offer the very best protection from the elements with water resistant & breathable fabrics designed to withstand the weather. Function is key, but so is the styling, and that pretty much summed up MA.STRUM from the very start.
