We've all probably got some memories and nostalgia attached to Kickers at some point. Schools across the UK during the 80s & 90s were like an advert for Kickers shoes with the famous green & red tags the most in demand logos of the playground. Born out of the concept to create a shoe that could be worn with jeans, Kickers quickly became a respected label among the rock 'n' roll stars of the 1970s and 1980s from Roger Daltrey to Rod Stewart, to the king of pop himself, David Bowie. The musical connection still remained however it wasn't until the rise of Acid House and the "Baggy" Madchester scene in the late 80s & early 90s that really gave Kickers the kick into pop culture. Classic silhouettes like the Kick Hi became the go to style of footwear following the second summer of love with artists like the Stone Roses kitted out in a pair in the Fools Gold video as well as featuring on the cover on The Farm's 'Stepping Stone' track from 91_. Worn with bootcut baggy jeans from Manchester brands like Joe Bloggs, Kangol bucket hats & big outerwear the Kick Hi became a footwear icon of the "Baggy" era.
