Kelly Watch The Stars: Fila & 80s Casual Classics Bring Back the Kelly Green Settanta Mk1 Track Top
For those who truly understand this thing we call "Casual" will concur that the Settanta Mk1 in Kelly green from Fila is the holy grail of casual sportswear.
Certain colourways have played a massive part in the Casual scene since day one. For example when it comes to the Borg Elite trainer it was always all about the OG gold version. If we're talking about the Benetton Rugby Shirt it was the favoured blue & white above all else. For the Settanta Mk1, as much as the navy & the original Borg red will always a hold a place in every Casuals heart, there will always be something that little but more special about the Kelly Green version. Perhaps rarity will always come into it, even John McEnroe wore the original Settanta Mk1 in Kelly Green during his stint with Fila before his switched his sponsorship elegance to Tacchini. As the White Line evolved throughout the early to mid 1980s, the Kelly Green version not only marked one of the very first Pier Luigi Rolando colourways of the Settanta story, but would also become one of the most sought after track tops over the last 40 plus years. As far as casual sportswear goes it doesn't really get much more nostalgic than the Fila Settanta Mk1 track top in Kelly Green.

Born out of the original Pier Luigi Rolando designs and the highly respected White Line, the Settanta Mk1 really set the bar for casual sportswear. After its original release in 1976 the Settanta became one of Borg's main track top styles with the Swedish superstar usually opting for the navy or red colourways. One of the most sought after colourways at the time was the Kelly Green version. It was super rare and added to the whole exclusivity and one-upmanship that existed in casual culture of the late 70s and early 80s. Björn Borg was also famously photographed wearing the Kelly Green version of the Settanta Mk1 track top carrying a big block of ice over his shoulder which gave the classic tennis style even further 'coolness' as the aptly named "Ice Man" took the White Line to the very top of the game.
