Introducing The Reebok Aztec II Trainer

The Reebok Aztec II trainer is an updated version of the original Aztec trainer from 1979 which is revived once again from the Bolton born brand's archive.

If you're bang into your trainers like us the you'll probably remember when Reebok re-launched the Aztec trainer, in celebration of their 120th anniversary back in 2015. You're probably wondering where time has gone just like us, but the fact remains, the classic stuff from Reebok looks just as good today as it did 10 years ago, or when they were originally released back in the late 1970s. The whole running boom of the 1970s saw performance footwear enter into some sort of 'space race' equivalent with brands like Nike, PUMA, Brooks, New Balance, adidas & Reebok going all in on sole technology, stability & support. The classic running trainer from the golden era of marathons, moustaches and super tight shorts has seen a retro resurgence in recent years, taking it back to the simplistic 70s silhouettes. If there was one silhouette from the Bolton born sportswear brand that really captured this era it's got to be the Aztec which now arrives at 80s Casual Classics in an updated version for 2025.

Originally launched back in 1979 the Reebok Aztec was one of Reebok's most advanced running shoe on the market at the time. Designed for speedy track use, the Aztec featured the latest running trainer innovation with a dual density mid sole for superior cushioning & support with perforated Poron cushioned insoles. Handmade at Reebok's factory in Bolton, which would close its doors in 1992, the Aztec perfectly captured the highly competitive running trainer market of the late 1970s with its carbon rubber heel & speed lacing system courtesy of its signature D-rings.
