The Fila Tiebreak track top is an original White Line style & is now treated to a very special release from the archives.
It was the 1970s where sportswear first became style driven with Italian brands like Fila pioneering the original designs of the early 1970s. No longer was it just about performance it was also as much about style. Mixing sportswear with Italian styling was something the tennis world had never seen before with Fila's legendary White Line becoming the go to brand of the playboys, the dressers & the tennis elite. It was the White Line that would change traditional tennis apparel forever. Some of the early designs included the likes of
the Fila Settanta & the Fila Tiebreak track top which drew inspiration from classic varsity style with baseball collars, classy colourways and the highly sought after Fila logo. Not to be confused with the Tiebreaker, which is another original White Line style, the Fila Tiebreak is now treated to a very special release from the archives.

Enrico Frachey, who was the managing director of Fila at the time tapped up the Italian designer, Pier Luigi Rolando, to head up the White Line, a collection that would change the face of tennis apparel forever. As well as Rolanda, Frachey called up Alessandro Galliano. It was Galliano's role to work on performance and function of the designs, with the collection's name giving a nod to the traditional colour scheme of tennis apparel. However, the White Line was far from it. Kelly green's, bold red's and navy's combined with traditional tennis whites & Italian designer styling gave the White Line an edge like nothing seen on the tennis courts before.

Following on from the success of other OG Fila styles like the Settanta from 1976, the Fila Tiebreak or Oceana is it was also know, was famously worn by the Swedish tennis legend, Bjorn Borg. Borg's on court charisma and playboy lifestyle gave a whole new dimension to traditional sportswear with Fila's demand becoming just as big off the courts as it was on it. First introduced in 1978 the Tiebreak featured a varsity inspired design in a gardenia and navy colourway & was originally made in Italy, as was the majority of the original White Line stuff. Borg was famously pictured on the cover of the French sports magazine, L'Equipe, wearing the Tiebreak track top at the height of his highly profiled career.
