Celebrate The Snow Time Line With Fila

Our latest knitwear from Fila celebrates the original Snow Time line with a range of archive inspired styles as originally worn by the Casual elite.

It was legendary Fila designers like Pierluigi Rolanda that revolutionised sportswear as it we know it today. Long before phrases like "athleisure" were even a word, it was the Italian designer Pierluigi Rolanda that took sportswear and made it stylish. Merging contemporary Italian fashion with varsity inspired sportswear, across a range of sports from tennis gear to ski-wear, Fila became the "go to" brand for many in the 1970s & the 1980s. It was Pierluigi Rolanda's White Line that arguably gave the Fila the desirability it had courtesy of centre court icons like Bjorn Borg sporting the likes of the Settanta as he took Wimbledon glory. However, Rolando's skills for stylish sportswear didn't just stop at tennis. Rolando also introduced the Fila Snow Time line in the late 1970s. Part of Fila's celebrated ski heritage, the Snow Time line went with the same ethos as the White Line, except instead of tennis gear it was strictly ski-wear. Ski-wear that boasted Rolando's style driven stamp across a range of jackets, ski-suits & knitwear. Obviously they weren't going to head down to their local wearing a full ski suit but as usual it was done in typical Casual style. Taking elements from Fila's tennis gear and ski-wear line, the Casuals put their own spin on the Italian sportswear brand. Roll necks, tennis track tops & polo shirts, ski jumpers and ski jackets became part of the dressers' uniform teamed up with adidas trainers, Lois cords and wedge haircuts. The 'Made in Italy' Snow Time range was a massive hit, with knitwear in particular playing a key part in the whole Casual sportswear style of the era.
