First arriving on the tennis scene back in 1981, the Fila Settanta Mk2 followed in the footsteps of the original varsity inspired track top from the late 1970s.
Just like anything else that's style driven it rarely stands still. No sooner had Bjorn Borg showed the world the full extent of what Pier Luigi Rolando's prestigious White Line was all about at Wimbledon in the summer of 1981, it was time to showcase the world the next generation of fashionable Fila gear. As the elite tennis world were just coming to grips with the varsity inspired Settanta Mk1 track top in never seen before tennis colours, the next gen of White Line arrived in 1981. Even top flight football teams at the time only changed their kits every two seasons. For Borg it was literally a bi-annual thing with more style driven White Line on show than ever before. The Fila Settanta Mk2 track top marked not only the next chapter of the Settanta, it also marked a new era for Borg and as usual, its fair share of trophy's.

Even though Bjorn Borg's competitive career was relatively short lived, retiring at the age of 26, the Swedish tennis legend won a whopping 11 Grand Slam singles titles which included winning the French Open 6 times and Wimbledon a staggering 5 times. Ranked world no.1, the headband wearing Swede became an icon thanks to his expensive designer sportswear and sponsorship deals that would give birth to some of the most celebrated tennis gear of all time. His playboy lifestyle with his penthouse in Monte Carlo and his fancy Ferrari's created the perfect poster boy for the Italian sportswear brand Fila.

Available in OG colourways such as navy & Chinese red in full tracksuit form, the Settanta Mk2 was 'Made in Italy' and featured the signature twin stripes to left shoulder. Borg was also sponsored by JVC around this time and famously lifted the French Open trophy in 1981 sporting the OG White Line style. Also available in polo shirt form the Settanta Mk2 also featured the iconic BJ branding.
