The Fila Mk2 Borg Polo Shirt is an original Pier Luigi Rolando design from the early 1980s as famously worn by the Swedish tennis legend, Bjorn Borg.
Although Bjorn Borg's competitive career was relatively short lived when compared to more recent tennis legends like Roger Federer who retired from the game at 41, Borg had already pretty much boxed everything off. From the age of 15 to the age of 26 when he retired the Swedish tennis legend had won a whopping 11 Grand Slam singles titles which included winning the French Open 6 times and Wimbledon a staggering 5 times. Ranked world no.1, the headband wearing Swede became an icon thanks to his expensive designer sportswear and sponsorship deals that would give birth to some of the most celebrated tennis gear of all time. His playboy lifestyle with his penthouse in Monte Carlo and his fancy Ferrari's created the perfect poster boy for the Italian sportswear brand Fila. Borg's charisma & Casual tennis style made him the ideal celebrity to endorse Pier Luigi Rolando prestigious White Line. Original White Line designs like the Fila Mk2 Borg polo shirt were literally light years ahead of the competition.

Just like Borg had numerous training tops such as the Settanta & the Mk2 Settanta, it was the same story for his polo shirts. The BB1 was one of Borg's earlier polo shirt styles, famous for its pin stripes which stuck two fingers up at Wimbledon's "all whites" policy. More style driven courtesy of the legendary White Line designer, Pier Luigi Rolando, the BB1 was closely followed by the Mk2 polo shirt which Borg wore from around 1982 onwards. The pinstripes were ditched and switched up with stripes on the shoulders. The iconic BJ branding remained with various colourway versions of the early 80s White Line design, red & black or blue & black stripes.
