The Diadora N9002 first came on the colourful running trainer scene of the early 90s and continued the legacy of the Italian sportswear brands legendary N series.
The start of the 1990s marked a new era for sportswear, subculture, music & all things in between. Popular culture from 1992 saw Steven Segal go Under Siege on a US Navy battleship & Michael Keaton returned as Batman with Danny De Vito as the Penguin on a giant duck. The Shamen got banned from the BBC for telling everyone that E's were good, which to be fair a lot of people probably agreed with at the time. The underground rave scene went from the DIY fields somewhere near Doncaster direct to the high tech stages of TOTP. Times were certainly changing and with that came a new outlook to sportswear design. Brands like Diadora didn't just go to town with trainer tech with classic early 90s running shoes like the Diadora N9002 trainer, it was all about the colourways, which couldn't have screamed more early 90s if they tried.

Before the Diadora N9002 trainer first came on the colourful running trainer scene of the early 90s, Diadora had already captured the hearts of many young Casuals with the Borg Elite trainer from 1981. A state of the art court trainer with its expensive price tag, kangaroo leather and 'Made in Italy' label put Diadora in their own elite class of performance footwear. 1984 saw them venture into the world of running trainers, teaming up with the legendary middle distance runner, Seb Coe. The Seb Coe trainer would pave the way for the next generation of runners from the Italian sportswear brand with the world famous N series. Capturing all the crazy tracksuit and sportswear colourways of the early 90s era in running trainer form, the N series was all about runners needs & utilised the very best trainer tech of the era.
