Crocodile Supernova: Lacoste Bring Back Some Classic Stripes
Lacoste take us back to their classic striped knitwear era of the late 90s & early noughties with the introduction of their Striped Sailor Knit.
As far as influential "dressers" are concerned they don't really get much bigger than Liam Gallagher. Each style with its own association to a certain music video or a charity football match against Britpop rivals, this time around we're taking it back to a night in Brussels back in 2000 where Liam sported a bit of the classic crocodile and the iconic striped Lacoste jumper he wore in Belgium.

Drawing inspiration from the striped designs of the late 90s & early noughties, Lacoste have now re-introduced some classic stripes with their latest Sailor Knit. It was OG brands like Lacoste that really flew the flag for casual sportswear from the late 1970s onwards. Arguably one of the most sought after sportswear labels of the era, some young casuals even stitched fake crocodiles onto unbranded polo shorts to try and blag the real thing. Moody polos aside, the brand has gained a cult like following since the original casual era thanks to films like La Haine & the whole colour-blocking sportswear trends of the 90s. Like a badge of honour, the embroidered croc has remained a fan favourite long after the days of IZOD cagoules & 'Made in USA' knitted cardigans.
