As much as "casual" fashion is constantly evolving you still can't really beat a bit of the classic check and this latest Barbour Blaine Polo Shirt is exactly that.
Something like the equivalent of tartan to punks or paisley to mods, the classic check of brand's like Barbour, Burberry & Aquascutum have long been associated with the match day ritual of getting dressed up to the sounds of 'She's Lost Control' from legendary 80s bands like Joy Division or 'Going Underground' from The Jam. Boozers & 3pm kick offs' aside, there's also just something quintessentially British about a bit of check that completes the UK's homegrown casual style. From an early noughties Football Factory era, it was all about turned up collars and caps, with a bit of classic to complete the look. It's the unique British "football casual" style that brands like Barbour continue to champion when they're not kitting out the Royals for a walk around Balmoral. This latest Blaine polo shirt from the British heritage brand is a fine example of what Barbour does best.

Barbour’s origins go way back to 1894 and South Shields in the North East of England. Originally founded by John Barbour, it was actually John’s grandson who developed the brand’s signature waxed cotton fabric for motorcycle uniforms. The durable waxed cotton fabric was robust and water repellent making it ideal for speedy road use. Barbour motorcycle jackets from the 1950s also had a tartan lining which added extra warmth for its wearer. The colourful Scottish cloth provided excellent insulation for winter road use, as well as extra padding for the garment. Over the years Barbour has become a highly respected British heritage brand & an all time dressers favourite.
