Reebok Classic AZ

The Reebok Classic AZ Trainer Puts A Low Profile Spin on The 80s Fitness Icon

Now introduced in an Aztec inspired low profile version, the Reebok Classic AZ trainer arrives at 80s Casual Classics in a vibrant batik blue & solar acid yellow colourway.

From making running shoes for the 1924 British Olympic Team to kitting out top flight footballers like Ryan Giggs in neon clad football boots in the 1990s, Reebok's sportswear heritage now spans over 100 years. Tapping into the whole 1970s running boom with OG styles like the Aztec to then "wiping the floor" with the new wave of 80s gyms & fitness regimes with their "all leather" silhouettes. Following on from exhibitions in Bolton, which is really worth the trip if you're in the North West, Reebok have now introduced a 70s inspired iteration of the Classic for 2025. Given a nod to their legendary Aztec runner from '79, the Classic AZ trainer puts a low profile spin on the 80s fitness icon.

Reebok's Union Jack logo became like a badge of honour for fitness freaks in the 1980s who were either 'pumping iron' like Arnold Schwarzenegger or jumping into a Jane Fonda inspired aerobic class. OG silhouettes like the Reebok Classic trainer championed the whole 80s fitness craze, designed as an all purpose training shoe that could be used for various workouts. First released in 1982, the Reebok Classic became the foundation of Reebok's celebrated 'All Leather' training styles during the 1980s. 9 years later in 1991, Reebok introduced the Classic Nylon trainer which paved the way for a full blown 90s revival of the Classic silhouette. From local fair-grounds to football fans at France 98_ the Reebok Classic remained an all time footwear favourite of 90s trainer trends.
