PUMA Oslo City Vintage

The PUMA Oslo City Returns In An OG 80s Colourway

The PUMA Oslo City trainer is an original style from PUMA’s celebrated City series and now returns in an OG inspired vintage colourway from the 1980s.

The PUMA Oslo City trainer is a prime example of why we will always love the vintage trainer styles from the past. It’s so simple in design yet super clean & practical at the same time. It’s hard to believe the Oslo City is actually one of PUMA’s oldest trainers. First introduced back in 1952, 2022 will mark the 70th anniversary since the vintage trainer came on the performance footwear scene. With more trainers now available than ever before, the OG styles still remain just as relevant in today’s trainer market. In the case of the Oslo City it doesn’t really get much better for a design that is now knocking on 70 years old. Like fine wine, perhaps the retro stuff just simply gets better with age? We certainly think so. After making a grand return back in 2020, the Oslo City now returns to its spiritual home in an OG inspired colourway from the 1980s.

First introduced in 1952 as a performance training shoe, the Oslo City celebrated the Winter Olympic games in the Norwegian capital. It was however the 1968 model that really put the Oslo City on the map. Originally manufactured in West Germany like the majority of PUMA trainers at the time, the 68′ model was initially released as a multi-purpose training shoe for indoor court sports such as handball and volleyball. Just like many of the other classic PUMA styles, it was the 1980s where OG styles like the Oslo City saw a huge resurgence. It just simply looked great with a pair of jeans. Up until the recent revival of the Oslo City from the PUMA archives, the vintage trainer had become like gold dust to get your hands on. The re-release of the Oslo City was warmly welcomed by OG trainer fans across the world due to its sheer rarity.
