Get Winter Ready With The New Balance 997H Cordura Trainer

The original 99x series trainer is now given a winter ready update with the introduction of the New Balance 997H Cordura trainer.

It's officially that time of year when the puddles, the dirt, the muck & other trainer wrecking substances come out in full force. Your beloved trainers become a victim, yet again, to the elements as you look down at your feet wondering if they'll ever look the same again. Winterized trainers that are functional for the the colder months, which let's be completely honest are generally wet, cold and pretty miserable here in the UK, are just what you need to give your feet that added protection. Winter trainers are now a thing thanks to foul weather ready fabrics like GORE-TEX & Cordura, which add a much needed winterized layer to your trainers. This time around it's the legendary runner from New Balance which gets the winter ready treatment with the introduction of the New Balance 997H Cordura trainer for the latest season. Originally released in the early 90s, the New Balance 997 trainer marked the final chapter of the world renowned 99x series which boasted some of the very best trainer technology available at the time. The ultimate in running shoe design & competitive curb appeal, the 99x series offered supreme cushioning starting out with the original 990 trainer back in 1982. It was Steven Smith who took over the 99x series head design role in 1988 and introduced the 996. Smith then took the 99x series to the next level with the introduction of the New Balance 997 trainer in 1991. Featuring dual density ENCAP inserts and the famous C-CAP sole technology, the 997 was one of the most cushioned trainers New Balance had ever released. Typically it was released in grey, giving a nod the 99x series' no fuss design approach. Still regarded as one of the most revolutionary runners of the last 30 years, the 997 is a testament to the trainer technology & innovation that came from the entire 99x series.
