The New Balance 327 off white/green trainer puts a sporty spin on the old meets new running silhouette with a contemporary take on a classic.
The ever changing landscape of the trainer world can sometimes feel a little bit overwhelming. Inundated with new silhouettes & releases it can be a minefield of choices & colourways. Here at 80s Casual Classics we like to keep things a little bit more simple, as when all said and done it's all about the classics (and always will be). Although the New Balance 327 trainer might not technically be an OG classic, it's inspiration from classic NB running trainers from the 1970s is pretty clear. What we also love about the recently released runner is the modern touch. We're not saying that all classics should be updated, far from it, but sometimes a little bit of design inspiration from what's currently popping never hurt. The latest New Balance 327 off white/green trainer now arrives at 80s Casual Classics, putting a sporty spin on the old meets new running silhouette. The brain child of the Manchester based creative & designer, Charlotte Lee, the New Balance 327 trainer design draws inspiration from the New Balance 320 & the Super Comp, two original running styles that were released back in the 1970s. The 320 first came on the scene back in 1976 and was the very first model that not only used numbers for the name but also the iconic N logo. The 320 was an instant hit and was also voted the number one running shoe by Runner's World Magazine. The fact that Tom Fleming wore a pair of 320's when he won the New York Marathon in 1975 might have helped out a bit as well. The New Balance Super Comp from 1978 was geared up more for synthetic track and road use with its air sprung sole unit. The 327 clearly takes it sole design from the grippy rubber studded outsole of the Super Comp. Above: The New Balance 327 trainer in off white/green now available from 80s Casual Classics. The old meets new New Bakance trainer now arrives at 80s Casual Classics in an updated off white/green colourway. Featuring mesh uppers & suede overlays inspired from the NB archives, the end result is a contemporary take on a classic. Highlights include the iconic N logo to the sidewalls in green, a padded ankle collar & a super grippy studded rubber outsole which gives a nod to the original Super Comp trainer from the late 1970s.
