Neil Primett Talks About Ellesse And Our Latest Styles At 80s Casual Classics
In our series of videos, 80s Casual Classics founder, Neil Primett, takes a look at some of our latest Ellesse styles and where the whole story really started.
Before the whole Ellesse resurgence came about as we know it today the brand had been laying low since the late 90’s. Obviously it was huge with the whole casual movement of the late 70’s and early 80’s and then made its comeback again in the 90’s when sportswear made a big impact. After we took care of the wardrobe for the Firm in 2009 we were asked to bring the brand back (who better may we add?), with our superb knowledge of casual sportswear brands of the 80’s era we certainly didn’t do a bad job. Classic styles like the Rimini have become a staple style at 80s Casual Classics ever since we were approached to re-launch the Italian sportswear label. A popular style which has become the backbone of our Ellesse collections which has now expanded into a range of outerwear, sweatshirts, T-shirts and of course different styles of the classic tracktops we all love.
We are constantly updating our selections of Ellesse here at 80s Casual Classics with new styles, colours and seasonal products. One of the latest styles we are particularly excited about is the Quarter Zip Roma Track Top (as worn by Neil in the video), its classic Ellesse all over and follows in line with our current white, black and orange colour theme. The red and orange twin stripes on the arms really contrasts well against the black body, likewise for the white version and the orange version which comes with black twin stripes.
Now moving onto outerwear, the Ellesse Mont II Quarter Zip Jacket has also become a firm favourite of ours with its classic smock style, oversized kangaroo pocket to the front and bold branding. Looking to the ‘après-ski’ archives of the Italian sportswear brand, the Mont Jacket will most certainly look the business whatever the weather. Colour options can be as bold or as subtle as you want ranging from bright yellow to navy, grey and burgundy.
If its winter warmth you’re after then the Lombardy Jacket is a great bit of kit for the money. Again looking to the slopes and Ellesse archives for inspiration the puffer jacket style offers great protection and warmth against the elements. We’ve got a great range of colourways available in the Lombardy including black, grey, navy and Tibetan red.
All of the styles featured in the video and the feature are available now from 80scasualclassics.co.uk.
