Are You Euros Ready?
Our latest collection of Euro 2020 goodies includes a selection of retro football shirts like the Scotland 1978 home shirt.
Euro 2020 is officially here! Or do we now call it Euro 2021? Anyway, one of the greatest European football tournaments will get underway in just over 24 hours. You just simply cannot beat football fever during the summer months even if it is a year delayed. This year might be a bit different let’s say to previous tournaments, but at least we can now all enjoy a few cold ones whilst watching our favourite teams. As you probably already know, England & Scotland are due to play each other on Friday 18th June 2021, a fierce rivalry that goes all the way back to 1872 in Glasgow. So when did the last two national teams actually meet in a tournament that wasn’t a play off or a friendly? You guessed it, it was Euro 96. England won 2-0 thanks to Gazza’s skill and his famous ‘Dentist Chair’ celebration. It’s now 25 years since a bleached blonde Gazza put the ball past Scotland’s Andy Goram, but with a new breed of talent coming through the ranks for both teams, with the likes of Man City’s Phil Foden & Man United’s Scott McTominay, the rivalry could see one of its best games to date. The question is though are you Euros Ready? We’ve got a great selection of Euro 2020 goodies such as the Scotland home shirt from 1978.

First up we’ve got the Scotland 1978 Home Shirt as worn by the World Cup squad at Argentina 78′. The tartan army got behind Ally MacLeod who claimed that the World Cup Final would be later dubbed “National Ally Day”. The Scottish team was a force to be reckoned with, with a range of top flight stars such as Graeme Soueness, Kenny Dalglish & Gordon McQueen. Scotland sadly didn’t make it past the group stages. It was a bitter pill to swallow but they did beat one of the greatest teams in the world at the time, the Netherlands, in their final game.
