THE FIRM –“A remake of a cult classic- brings back all things casual" 

THE FIRM DVD IS RELEASED 1st FEB 2010 - a must own/see casuals film. We were privaleged to see the Firm a number of times ahead of release and we became huge fans as well as a story any young adult could relate to , the clothes and music is spot on and humour from Doms Mum and Dad and Ginger Terry even means the Mrs can watch.

Casual clobber a plenty-Nick Love contacted Neil at www.80scasualclassics.co.uk to help find the costume for The Firm and a key need to track down some expensive Fila Terrindas. With many memorable 80s styles still due a release we worked all hours to find key retro vintage items for the charachters. Aware The Business sparked a re-release from the likes of Fila, Sergio Tacchini and Diadora we do anticipate Nick loves The Firm should see more follow suit. Sergio Tacchini will see a massive return to form as Neil has sat with designers and insured some great releases are made to 80s spec. Fila were involved with The Firm and are truly on the re-release case to emulate originals in the film.

A major re-release that did spark much demand after the release of The Business was the Fila settanta Mk3 terrinda the last of Borgs track tops seen as a key item for the casual elite in 1983-85. In the Firm all colours Red, White, French Blue and Navy get seen and at one point in the 5 a-side game all Bex's West Ham Firm wear the Terrinda colours, Fila finally release all colours order yours today.

Nick Love supplied his own Red and French Blue Terrindas and Neil and many other collectors made sure 20+ originals were on set. Filas own remakes landed on set and it was soon a case of spot the difference such was/is the remake quality, Neil since sold most of the original Fila terrindas for £800-£1000.

The Firm cinema release has already sparked phenomenal interest in key items from the casual era and after a history of demand ans sales sparked from 2006 The Business, The Firm DVD release completely Uk casual period is set to be immense and why not !!!

Sergio Tacchini a Welcome Return to Form- largely missing in 2008-09 , expect some amazing product via our site with many key 80s Film styles and known classics. The Orion track top also known as split colours-Star Track in white/yellow and white/sky with full Zip neck returns along with the terrinda biker neck style. Sergio Tacchini classics like the Star track and Dallas return in all sizes and colours and new pants. www.80scasualclassics.co.uk  will have every 80s colour of Sergio Tacchini Mcenroe Dallas Track top; the first 80s spec Red version, Nick Loves own 80s favourite the Italian Royal, the patriotic White England casuals track and non stop favourites of Navy and Sky Blue the known Danny Dyer Business top only available on this site. We are also the only site selling many XXL to 4XL on styles and the only site to have navy, royal and yellow track bottoms.

The Mcenroe Young Line track top with concealed zip off sleeve does feature throughout The Firm including main charachter Dom, this has just arrived in the Navy with upper shoulder red. The 2010 release is a spot on 80s remake. A white / royal version also appears - visit our collectors page to see some originals.

		Bex wears the Sergio Tacchini Matts Willander Track in the football scene and the pub meet with Yeti and the Farmer. Already available on this site. A favourite Top of Nick Love many versions were loaned to the Firm by 8oscasualclassics
		Dom in The firm wears the memorable Mcenroe Sergio 80s casual classic the detachable sleeve New Young Line track available now 2010 only 80scasualclassics. Dom is also seen in the film wearing the Zip off sleeve tank / gillet track version.
		The split star track with the 80s biker collar simlar to the Fila Terrinda was huge in the 80s and already in the 2009 cinema release full funnel neck has been one of the best selling re-releases. We have both neck styles in all sizes

Bex below in the Sept 2009 best seller that sold out incredibly fast has now been remade with an improved stretch full zip neck line, are site is exclusively sellng a very affordable full Tracksuit Bex pictured below in full split star tracksuit also known today as "Orion", in the background is a Sky/navy Greacle now very ltd only on this site 

A film full of casual clobber - Thankfully Nick Loves The Firm was loosely adapted from the cult like Allan Clarke short film made in 1989. Nick Love's film is set earlier in The 80s (hence football casuals and firm84.com) and retells a similar story to the original - but from another character point of view. The film centres on Dom a young wannabe casual (I'm sure many of us can relate to this guy) drawn into the world of top boy Bex and The Firm.  Dom gets accepted into The Firm and soon becomes one of the boys out shopping and nicking gear and strutting around the neighbourhood and of course wearing to football meets. 

Nick Love a big casual clobber fan himself portrays what we see as the jealously of the non casuals who cannot afford the elitist fashion. Nick Love renowned for sharp tongue put downs ? Many a splendid track top is likened to favourite sweets like Fruit Pastels and Liquorice Allsorts we reckon nothing more than a jealous compliment to a period where the casuals set the scene favouring some brave colours - pastels being just one of them. Pink and Yellow polos with burgundy and electric blue cords were the norm and you would think nothing of it. Diamond golf knits were not inspired by Ronnie Corbett.  It was brave eltist fashion and sports such as tennis , ski and golf brought affluent oneupmanship clobber to the casuals, the street and the terraces. break dancers wore full tracksuits, split bottom cords and Farahs and many mixed the two together. A nation of casuals identified with Borg and Mcenroe on court clothes like Beckham off pitch- they were superstars in elitist Italian sports fashion. I certainly thought they were cool and Borg off court in Lois unknown to him made him a casual main player.  

Fila also release some great film pieces supplied by 80scasualclassics to the Firm and many casual fashion styles from the period when it became more than just a tennis/skiwear brand. Including some memorable personal favourites of ours the magnificent 3 key colour Fila named "Aquilani" , The Bex Vilas V design track known as the "alley" and the return of the early borg Tie-break an England Fila colours classic that was worn by both Borg and Mcenroe ahead of the Settanta

		Above left sees Snowy In Aquilani 3 key colours Track with Yellow shoulder and Yousef in Royal Blue both worn by them in The Firm. This top was loaned by a mate of mine to Fila for the remake and 3 different colours including the orange red shoulder made it onto the set of the Firm. 80scasual classics will be the only site selling the royal shoulder. Above is the full funnel neck Tie break a borg mcenroe best seller due again only on this site and final left my current find and favourite the Vilas V track that gets worn by Bex in The Pub apology scene. 		A classic 80s Fila track Top spooted by Neil on 80s tennis website and selected by Nick Love for Fila to remake this top along with the key 4 Terrindas. It features heavily in a navy version worn by Yousef (Jaf) in the knife scene. Benny from Grange Hill in the original firm was not privaleged to casual clobber. The top does features in Sky in the bex , yeti pub meet scene and various other scenes. This is likely to be a very popular Fila re-release.
		Fila navy shorts with classic Fila colours waistband and leg cuff. This original pair of shorts owned by Neil was worn by Danny Dyer in The Business tennis scene, Bex in the Firm 5-aside and our own Neil in the shop scene. The best short to date. The original has been on a world tour and recommended for summer 2010

 The Trousers

		Jumbo Cords- A memorable part of the 80s look for all casuals was the Jumbo cords the leading brand was Lois although other brands were quick to copy and had their success. Memorable colours were brilliant blues - electric blue and many other shades, I had mustard and burgundy and my best mates had the electric blue , beige. The re-release Navy Lois is pictured above with the similar zip fronted sergio tacchini Booth track another popular 80s style featured in the film. A good few colours of cord feature throughout The Firm
		The Farah hopsack trouser another massive part of the look for casuals dressed up with roll necks V neck diamond jumpers, Pierre Cardin croc shoes or simply everyday casual track top , ski jacket , kagoul with trainers. The Farah was a must have and for school boy casuals teamed with the ski jacket kagoul and maybe a nice "waffle jumper" you could keep the elitist fashion up at school. Trigger and the Yeti both wore Farahs throughout the film. Farahs are back in stock in popular slate grey and navy in a new easier current day backside fit, that wont disappoint they fit great.

The Diadora Elite in white/navy a classic 80s casuals shoe possibly the most popular of all 80s trainers features throughout The Firm. This shoe is Ltd once again and when it's gone it's gone, plenty of our regulars wised up to this with the Borg Gold Elite choosing to buy two, even three pairs.   This release also features half sizes in this shoe for the perfect fit.   The classic white/gold Diadora Borg Elite Trainer is issued agaian by the  Italians in kangaroo skin a remake of the 1981 Diadora Borg Gold Elite Trainers the ultimate casuals vintage borg shoe, only afforded by the main 80s players. After nearly two years since the last re-release and prices heading up to £150, a new release is due at £99.95

Wardrobe 80’s Casual Classics played a big part assisting with the wardrobe for the film with much research and late nights and a whole load of collector’s product. Feedback from key faces at the preview was its “SPOT ON”. The Business was a centre court show of vintage 80s Tennis, Sergio Tacchini, Fila and Ellesse; primarily Danny Dyer. In ‘The Firm’ the young terrace casuals are fully clobbered up in Italian sportswear of the day and casual rarities appear throughout with the likes of Best Company Coats and Sweats, Kappa Cagoules, Australian L’alpina, Lacoste, Farah, Lois, Gabicci, Adidas rarieties, golf shoes, Munchen, Forest Hills, Benetton Rugby Shirts in Green/Blue/ Pink , Patrick, Burberry, Full Tracksuits from Sergio, Fila and Ellesse , Kickers, Nike Wimbledon’s, Ski jackets, Roll Necks, Pringle Diamonds and split bottom jeans /cords and Im still leaving twice as much for casual train spotting..

There will be no doubt that this film shows the greatest portrayal of clothing of the time for casuals of the day.  Nick Love elsewhere has suggested it’s his memories of being a casual in London and clearly as we know each area had its own fashion agendas.  However there is more than enough to convince any 80s casual connoisseur of the era that was, with a major thumbs up already from the North on 80s Casuals site.
