Gabicci was first launched in 1973, fast became an underground style leader and embodied a look adopted first by the ‘Northern Soul’ music scene, later to appear in the early ‘terrace looks’ mostly by northern football fanatics. Teamed with the Farah hopsack and trainers, the discrete metal gold coloured G symbol quickly became the brand mark of the day for footbal casuals. The retro revivals during the 90s meant that Gabicci styles were again being worn on the club scene, but in ever decreasing numbers as the original 70s garments became increasingly rare, with good examples changing hands on ebay at up to £150 a time. Through this association with the young music scene, from it’s ‘Northern Soul’ roots right through to today’s ‘Indie’ bands, Gabicci has been received by youth culture as an iconic brand. Gabicci Vintage was relaunched Dec 2007 and was very well received by our vintage 80s buyers reliving the 80s casual terrace revival. Set for today’s market, the look is ‘slim’ with quality yarns and fabrics used throughout the collection in rich and contemporary colours. All polos have been extremely popular and we can not get enough we continue with the 4 button polo which has a stretch back and the great piping polo. |
